This travel permit, which began to be used in January 1999, is valid for 10 years for adults and 3 years for children. The holder can have multi-entries and exits within the validity period. Hong Kong and Macao residents can apply to China Travel Service Hong Kong and Macao respectively. The travel permit is issued by Guangdong Public Security Department after examining and approving an application. (The photo to be used on this permit must have a reddish brown or pink backdrop without any objects in it, and of a size not smaller than 40mmX50mm, and not larger than 45mmX55mm).
